Bar Harbor, Maine is a historic and quaint vacation town that boasts Acadia National Park along the Atlantic Ocean. It was first estalished in 1761 with main industries being fishing, shipbuilding, agriculture and lumbering. Because of the natural beauty and maritime activity of the area, artists flocked to the town in the 1800s. Bar Harbor became a summer getaway for the elite like John D. Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan and Cornelius Vanderbilt.
