Stretching Saguaro

Even the prickliest of things can hold the most intrigue and beauty.

One of the most iconic features of the Sonora Desert is the proud saguaro cactus. This cactus is known for its towering trunk and limbs that can number over 25. It is the largest cactus in the United States (known to grow over 40 feet tall) and can live to be over 150 years old. The saguaro is coated with spines, flowers in the spring and produces red fruit in the summer.
